The Farnham Fast Lane Knights (formerly Farnham Knights , Farnham Personal Assurance Knights or PA Knights ) are an American football club from the southern English town of Aldershot in the county of Hampshire .

history

The Knights were founded in 1984, after the first games in 1985 they started operating in the league for the first time in 1986. After merging with the Hampshire Cavaliers in 1994, the team changed its name to Southern Seminoles. In 1997 the name changed to Personal Assurance Knights , named after the main sponsor Personal Assurance . Further name changes followed, the current name is Farnham Fast Lane Knights , also named after the main sponsor Fast Lane .

Between 2003 and 2006 the Knights took part in the EFAF Cup four times . In 2004 they reached the final, which they lost against Papa Joe's Tyrolean Raiders with 0:45.

successes

After two runner-up championships in 1992 (26:30 defeat against the Clydesdale Colts in the BNGL) and 2002 (15:42 defeat against the London O's), the Knights achieved their greatest club success in 2004. In the BritBowl 2004 they beat the London O's with 28:14 and became British champions for the first time. In 2005 they reached the final again but lost to the London O's with 19:21.
