The Fasciculus longitudinalis medialis (medial longitudinal bundle) is a nerve fiber bundle in the area of ​​the brain stem . It begins at the rostral end of the reticular format and runs to the spinal cord . The medial longitudinal bundle contains heavily myelinated fibers of the interstitial nucleus CAJAL, the nucleus nervi oculomotorii , the nucleus nervi abducentis , the nucleus nervi trochlearis and the vestibular nuclei . The ascending and descending connections within this nerve pathway play a major role in coordinating eye movements.
