Fasciculus longitudinalis dorsalis
The Fasciculus longitudinalis dorsalis (dt .: posterior longitudinal bundle; Syn .: Fasciculus longitudinalis posterior or Schütz bundle ) connects the four parasympathetic cranial nerve nuclei with one another, drawing from the corpus mamillare in the hypothalamus to the medulla oblongata . This includes:
- Nucleus accessorius nervi oculomotorii ( Edinger-Westphal-Kern )
- Nucleus salivatorius superior
- Nucleus salivatorius inferior
- Nucleus dorsalis nervi vagi
The posterior longitudinal bundle belongs to the long descending vegetative pathways of the hypothalamus and is involved in practically all vegetative functions of the body.
