Fiber sludge

As a fiber slurry one in which it is paper-making waste residue in wastewater or slurries referred. It consists of short cellulose fibers that cannot be processed by the paper cellulose from waste paper and fresh cellulose pulp for procedural reasons . During the processing of waste paper, so-called deinking sludge is also produced through the removal of printing inks .

Depending on the starting material and product, the fiber sludge can make up up to 30% of the input material. As a rule, the sludge is burned directly or after being mixed with other fuels in combustion systems and is thus used for energy. The material can be used as a pore-forming agent in the manufacture of bricks or as a soil improver in agriculture .
