Variations

Differentiations of the shape are mainly caused by the mirror seam and the collar stitching (crochet) :

  • The C-shape in suits and sports sakkos has an acute Crocheteck that to a straight or broken mirror seam can be used.
  • With the pointed shape , the collar and lapel corners of jackets, suits and coats are cut at particularly acute angles.
  • The shamrock shape for sporty men's coats is characterized by rounded corners, on the collar and lapel of different sizes. It is a variant of the slipon style.
  • The slipon is a city or city coat, preferably intended as a weather coat for the transitional period. It has a concealed button placket and the typical plate-shaped collar, almost without lapels ( slipon style ). Usually it is cut in a single row.
  • The slip shape on jackets or coats with a square or round cut collar, which is significantly wider than the small lapel, can be worn open and closed.
  • The shawl collar , the alternative to the lapel collar, is a round collar shape in which the upper collar and lapel are seamlessly connected. Two scarf-like stripes run from the rear center seam of the collar around the neckline of the clothing tops for women and men and cross each other at the front of the fastener, usually at chest height. The shape can be made wider, narrower, rolled, raised, turned up, etc. depending on the fashion.
