Almost Eddie

Fast Eddie (* 20th January 1969 as Edwin A. Smith ) is a music producer and DJ from Chicago , USA . It was particularly popular in the late 1980s during the acid house era in 1988 and 1989.

He worked a lot with greats in the Chicago house music scene, such as Tyree , Joe Smooth , Kenny Jason and Peter Black .

His musical style is house . However, Fast Eddie has made a name for himself in many different house styles including acid house , deep house, and hip house .

He is also considered the inventor of hip house. Since he was only allowed to release house on the DJ International label , but would also have liked to record a hip-hop number, he simply combined both styles. He rapped over a house beat and the new genre was created.
