Mahdavian's first major event was the 2005 World Cup in Dizin, Iran . With ninth place in the giant slalom and 15th place in the Super-G, she was only able to classify in the bottom field. In the slalom she was disqualified after a goal error in the first run. Her next international competitions were the World Cup races in Dizin in July 2007, where she achieved third place in the Super-G and in the giant slalom in the absence of most of the top runners. At the end of the 2007 World Cup season , she also took part in the races in Rettenbach, Austria, where she was fifth in the super combined and sixth in the giant slalom, finishing ninth in the overall World Cup as the best Iranian woman. At the 2007 World Cup in Olešnice v Orlických horách , Czech Republic , she was the only woman to represent Iran, but could not keep up with the best times. In the slalom she was the last of the rated runners in eighth place and in the Super-G and in the Super Combined she was penultimate and last in 14th place. In the giant slalom she was disqualified in the first round. In the 2008 season Mahdavian only took part in the World Cup races in Dizin, where she finished ninth in the Super-G, but was disqualified in the giant slalom. In the overall World Cup, she came 17th. After that she did not contest any international races.
