Grass ski world championship
The grass ski world championship is a sporting event that takes place every two years, in which the world champions in the grass ski disciplines are determined in various races . The first world championship took place in 1979 at Bryce Ski Resort in the US state of Virginia . Until 1985 the disciplines slalom , giant slalom and combination were held, with the combination being calculated according to a point system from the results of slalom and giant slalom. In 1987 the Super-G was added to the program. From now on, the combination consisted of the results of the slalom and the Super-G. A super combination has been held since 2007, consisting of a super G and a slalom run. The organizer is the International Ski Federation (FIS). Until 1985, the World Championships were organized by the International Grass Ski Association , which decided to dissolve that year after the International Ski Association added grass skiing to its ranks at its congress in Vancouver in May / June 1985 by creating its own committee. In addition to the world championships, there have also been annual junior world championships since 1990 .
