Zuzana Gardavská (born July 4, 1983 in Ostrava ) is a Czech grass skier . She is a member of the Czech national grass ski team, is a three-time world champion and seven-time junior world champion and won the overall World Cup in the 2011 season .
Career
Gardavská celebrated its first major successes at the Junior World Championships . From 2001 to 2003 she won a total of seven gold medals, and at the Junior World Championships in 2002 she even won all four competitions. In the general class she won her first medal and at the same time her first world title at the 2003 World Championships in Castione della Presolana . Gardavská won the Super-G ahead of the two Slovaks Veronika Cvašková and Lenka Gábrišová and finished ninth in the giant slalom. In the slalom and therefore also in the combination, she failed. Two years later she won the silver medal in the Super-G at the 2005 World Championships in Dizin and, with fifth place in the slalom, she also won bronze in the combination. She won another bronze medal in the super combination of the 2007 World Cup in Olešnice v Orlických horách , where she was also seventh in the super-G. Gardavská won her next two world championships at the 2009 World Championships in Rettenbach . She won the gold medal in the Super-G and in the Super Combined as well as the silver medal in the giant slalom, making her the most successful participant in this World Cup. In the slalom, however, she was eliminated in the second run after losing both ski poles at the start. At the 2011 World Championships in Goldingen , she was second in slalom and giant slalom and fifth in Super-G. In the Super Combined she was eliminated in the slalom run after she was third in the Super G run.
Gardavská also celebrated numerous victories and podiums in the World Cup . In the 2002 season she was among the top three in the overall standings for the first time, and the next year she was third overall. She achieved her best overall result for the time being in the 2004 season : With four second and two third places, but no victory, she came second in the overall World Cup behind the Austrian Ingrid Hirschhofer . In the next four seasons she came three times in the top six in the overall standings. The exception was the year 2007, in which she did not contest any World Cup races. In the 2009 season , Gardavská came back to third place in the overall World Cup with two wins and a further seven podium places and in 2010 she was fourth overall with a victory in the giant slalom in Dizin. Gardavská achieved her greatest success in the World Cup so far in the 2011 season : with five wins and a second place, she won the overall World Cup ahead of the Austrian Ingrid Hirschhofer and the German Anna-Lena Büdenbender . In 2012 she again did not take part in any World Cup races.
