Ski lifts in Dizin

Dizin is an Iranian ski resort about 120 kilometers north of Tehran . Via the Shemshak-Dizin-Road the distance to be driven to the Dizin-Ski-Resort is only approx. 60 km. It is located in the Elburs Mountains near the Damawand and is the most important ski area in the country.

Dizin was founded in 1969. It is characterized by a special snow quality, which is due to the high location (up to 3600 meters) and the north-facing ski slopes. The ski season runs from December to May.

The highest ski lift reaches a height of 3600 m, which makes Dizin one of the 40 highest ski areas in the world.

The place has two hotels, 19 huts and five restaurants, as well as private apartments. However, many visitors do not stay overnight, as the place is only a two- hour drive from Tehran.

In summer, grass skiing is practiced in Dizin . The first international competition took place in 1996. In 2005 Dizin hosted the Grass Ski World Championships and in 2010 the Grass Ski Junior World Championships .
