Career

Veronika Cvašková was one of the best grass skiers in the early 2000s. She celebrated her greatest successes at the 2003 World Cup in Castione della Presolana, Italy . There, the then 22-year-old won three silver medals in slalom , giant slalom and super-G and thus became world champion in the combination of slalom and super-G. In the overall ranking of the World Cup , which has been held since 2000 , she achieved her best results in the 2001 and 2003 seasons , when she was second in the overall World Cup behind Sylva Lipčíková and Ingrid Hirschhofer . After the 2003 season so successful for her, Veronika Cvašková temporarily ended her career. Only after a five-year break did she return to competition in 2009. The greatest success in her comeback season was winning the silver medal in slalom at the 2009 World Championships in Rettenbach , Austria ; in the World Cup in 2009 she remained without a podium. In the 2010 season she drove in four World Cup races and one FIS race among the top three and finished sixth in the overall World Cup. After she had not competed again in 2011, Cvašková took part in the two World Cup races in San Sicario again in the 2012 season. In the giant slalom, she won an immediate victory, in the Super-G she was fourth.
