Fausto Tenzi

Fausto Tenzi (born April 1, 1939 in Lugano ) is a Swiss opera singer (tenor).

Tenzi studied singing with Friedrich Husler and Marling Roth in Cureglia and with Alberto Soresina and Arturo Merlini in Milan . He has performed at the Scala in Milan , the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and the Teatro Comunale di Bologna , in Florence , Lucerne , Aachen and Perugia , took part in the Buxton Festival and gave concerts in Milan, Rome , Berlin , Moscow , Leningrad and in USA .

His repertoire included the José in Carmen , the Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor , the Manrico in Il trovatore , the Alfredo in La traviata , the Riccardo in Un ballo in maschera , the title role in Don Carlos , the Tebaldo in I Capuleti ei Montecchi , Rodolfo in La Bohème , Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly , Turiddu in Cavalleria rusticana and Prince Khovansky in Khovanshchina . Tenzi has appeared on radio broadcasts in France , Germany , Switzerland and Israel and participated in a complete recording of Queen of Spades and a recording of Scriabin's First Symphony . He lives in Castagnola in Switzerland.
