Fauve (band)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fauve , also Fauve ≠ or Fauve Corp , is a French rock collective from Paris .

Career

Fauve was founded in 2010 in the French capital. The band is named after the 1992 film Les Nuits fauves (German Wilde Nights ) by Cyril Collard . They keep a secret about their identity and call themselves a collective. Five members known by name form the core of the band, including at least four other people and a video artist who are involved in the performances and productions. They use the inequality sign ≠ as a symbol , which can be seen in full size on all album covers.

The group made its first publications on its channel on the video platform YouTube . With the songs Kané and Sainte Anne they had immediate success and achieved high numbers of hits. This was also due to their live concerts, which they made known in the greater Paris area and which were regularly sold out. They released their first CD Blizzard , an EP with 6 songs, in 2013 and came in at number 13 in the French charts . With the title track and later that year with songs like Voyou and De ceux , they also made it into the single charts.

The latter songs were also included on Fauve's first long player . Despite numerous high-value offers, they produced the album themselves and only joined forces with Warner for distribution . Vieux fréres - partie 1 appeared in February 2014 throughout French-speaking countries and was also in Wallonia in Belgium and the French-speaking successfully in Switzerland. The album reached number 2 in France and was in the charts for over a year. It has been sold over 110,000 times and has been awarded platinum . Part 2 of the album was released a year later, it rose to number 1 on the charts and reached gold status. In Belgium and Switzerland it was also in the top 5. The live album 150,900 followed in April 2016.
