Faye is an impact crater on the front of the moon , east of Mare Nubium , northeast of Delaunay crater, and southwest of Donati . The crater is very badly eroded and has a central mountain.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the French astronomer Hervé Faye .
