In Abtsbessinger faience is zinnglasierte earthenware that from 1739 to 1770 in a factory in the Thuringian Abtsbessingen was made.

A factory mark in the form of a pitchfork indicates the patronage of the Prince of Schwarzburg . Conventional ceramics such as flower vases , jugs or jugs are thick-walled and have a cream-colored glaze , blue or multi-colored decorations are common. The Abtsbessinger manufactory mainly produced good and solid average goods, but also artistically valuable pieces, especially for the princely founder and client. The most demanding works were created by the porcelain painter Josef Philipp Dannhöfer .
