Federação Moçambicana de Badminton

The Federação Moçambicana de Badminton (FMB) is the top national administrative organization in the sport of badminton in Mozambique . The association was founded in 1975.

history

Shortly after its foundation, the association became a member of the Badminton World Federation , then known as the International Badminton Federation , and in 1977 a founding member of the continental umbrella organization African Badminton Confederation , which at the time was still operating as the African Badminton Federation . International title fights were held for the first time in 1978 . In 1981 the national junior championships started . With the sinking of the country in the civil war, the badminton sport also came to an almost complete standstill. In the 2000s, the association made more attempts to build up a more lively game operation.
