Federação de Ski de Timor-Leste

The Federação de Ski de Timor-Leste (FSTL, French Fédération de Ski de Timor-Leste , English Timor-Leste Ski Federation TLSF ) is the national ski association of East Timor .

history

The FSTL was founded in December 2012. At the same time, the Association Française de Ski Timor-Leste (AFDSTL) was established on April 11, 2013 , to support the FSTL and its athletes. The first two skiers of the association, Yohan and Alexi Goutt Goncalves , grew up in France . Further support comes from the Australian and Timor-Leste Olympic Ski Association Incorporated (ATLOSAI). Australia has close ties with its neighbor, East Timor. The Australian Institute of Sport is helping East Timorese athletes.

In 2017, the first open national ski championships of East Timor took place on Ravna planina in Pale , Bosnian .

Committee

The President of the FSTL is Helder Encarnação, Vice-President Rui Lopes and Treasurer Rui Gonçalves. The secretary is Luis Casimiro and the European secretary Carolina de Mascarenhas.

Athletes

Yohan Goutt Goncalves

Yohan Goutt Goncalves was the first East Timorese to start slalom at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi . His younger brother Alexi Goutt Goncalves was not old enough for the Games at the time, but he has now achieved success in the French national ski competition. He wants to start at the 2018 Winter Olympics . Although he was present at the opening ceremony of the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games , he did not take part in any competition. Both skiers grew up in France. Her father is from France, the mother from East Timor.
