Feis

A Feis (pronounced "Fäsch"; plural "Feisanna") is an event or competition in dance and other disciplines.

Components are held in the disciplines of dance (especially Irish dance ), mastering various musical instruments , singing , mastering the Gaelic language and technical skills. The disciplines have their background in the tradition and history of Ireland.

These events or competitions take place nowadays in Ireland and many other countries in Europe or the USA.

Feisanna, which are held as a championship, are called Oireachtas.
