Oswald Feis

Oswald Feis (born March 13, 1866 in Mannheim , † April 15, 1940 in London ) was a German doctor and medical historian .

After studying in Heidelberg , Würzburg , Berlin and Jena , he received his doctorate in Würzburg in 1889 with contributions to the knowledge of the narrow pelvis with special focus on therapy . From 1890 to 1894 he worked in hospitals in Jena and Göttingen . In 1894 he settled in Frankfurt am Main as a gynecologist. As a Jew, Feis had to emigrate to England in 1939 during the Nazi era.

In addition to medical history research, music was close to his heart. He played the violin himself and was on the board of trustees of Dr. Hoch's Conservatory active (1924 to 1932 as chairman, 1932 honorary member).
