Uskokoleinaja schelesnaja doroga Tschapajewskowo silikatnowo sawoda , transl. Uzkokolejnaâ železnaâ doroga Čapaevskogo silikatnogo zavoda ) is a two-kilometer long narrow gauge railway at chapayevsk in the Samara Oblast in Russia .

history

Construction of the Chapayevsk silicate plant began in 1929, and the plant was put into operation in October 1931. The narrow-gauge railway from the sand pit to the Chapayevsk silicate factory has been in operation since the facility was founded. In the late 1960s, the facility was significantly rebuilt, and an SŽD class ТУ4 locomotive was delivered to the narrow-gauge railway.

Around 2003 the length of the main line of the narrow-gauge railway was about 1.5 kilometers, the length of all tracks was about 2 kilometers. The locomotive depot is located on the site of the facility. The narrow-gauge railway runs all year round. Diesel locomotives of the ТУ4 and ТУ7 series are used to transport sand . There are six dump trucks (flat-bed dump trucks that can be emptied from the side) of the type УВС22. In November 2009 the narrow-gauge railway was still in operation. In 2011, the ТУ4 diesel locomotive was used with three or four УВС22 dump trucks.
