Dungeon savior

The Catholic field chapel is located north of Mindelaltheim , a district of the municipality of Dürrlauingen , in the Swabian district of Günzburg ( Bavaria ). The protected monument borders State Road 2025 from the east . As a baroque niche chapel, the sacred building originally dates from the 18th century and was expanded in 1867. The two pillars with a porch, the cast iron noun sacrum on the gable and the inscription on the front of the building ( SM 1867 BM) bear witness to this . Inside there is a life-size dungeon savior behind a grid.

The chapel, which is privately owned, was once moved to the eastern side of the railway line so as not to interfere with the Bitt procession when the gate is closed. In 1961 the road was relocated a few meters to the east.
