The brewery was founded in 1865 under the name Dampfbierbrauerei Feldschlösschen Brettholz & Denkmann . On March 1, 1888, the Feldschlösschen share brewery was founded in order to keep the Brettholz & Denkmann brewery going. From 1918 a strong expansion of the company began by acquiring the brewing contingent of the monastery brewery in Minden and in 1922 the brewing contingent of the Kronenbrauerei in Bückeburg ; In 1924 the Hempel Municipal Brewery was bought, but sold again in 1929. In 1924, the Feldschlösschen share brewery entered into an interest group with Sparren-Bräu AG Bielefeld , which was dissolved again in 1925.

After economic problems, the company was restructured in 1931 by merging shares and reducing the share capital , a process that had to be repeated twice. Despite the rescue attempts, the company went bankrupt two years later , but was again operated as a public limited company under the same name after the liquidation.

Since 1951, the Berlin Schultheiss brewery acquired shares in the Feldschlösschen brewery, owned at least 50 percent of the shares in the early 1960s and held more than 98 percent in the end. At that time, the Feldschlösschen share brewery was producing between 60,000 and 70,000 hectoliters annually. In 1978 the Feldschlösschen share brewery was finally merged into the Dortmund Union-Schultheiss-Brauerei AG - today Brau und Brunnen AG , which in turn has been part of the Radeberger Group in the Oetker Group since 2004 .

The actual brewery was shut down in the early 1980s. In 1990 the former company premises on Marienstraße in Minden were sold. Today there is a shopping center there and until 2009 the branch of Straßen NRW . From 2011, Volksbank Mindener Land took over the property and set up its main office here at Marienstraße 124.

In 2008 the trademark protection for the traditional Weser-Pils brand expired, after which it was bought by Jürgen Gronert from Minden and master brewer Daniel Sander. From 2010 you will be brewing the Pils in your own recipe, because the original recipes could no longer be found.

The long-time chairman of the works council of the Feldschlösschen brewery, Hans-Joachim Scharmacher , was awarded the Medal of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for his services .
