Field reference to time

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The field reference to time in the form of a ten-minute time penalty was introduced by a resolution of the DFB Bundestag on October 29, 1977 for the amateur games of the member associations in the DFB in their area from the game year 1978/79 on.

This regulation, which was decided upon in agreement with the IFAB and in consultation with FIFA at the same time as a test on their behalf, was initially limited to the end of the 1982/83 game year, but was then initially retained. Since the introduction of the yellow / red card in 1992, it could no longer be used. The DFB Advisory Board decided on May 29, 1993, however, to continue to allow the field reference to time for the junior games of the member associations in the DFB in their area. Because of the regularly shorter playing time - with the exception of the A youth team - a “FaZ” only lasts five minutes. Most of the regional associations have adopted this in their youth regulations.
