content

Little Felix is looking for the point where heaven touches earth. To find this point, he follows a magical blue ball that rolls in front of him as if by itself and shows him the way. On his wandering Felix meets a whole series of strange trolls, goblins, ghost creatures and mythical animals, all of whom give him their hospitality in their own special way. A special friendship develops between Felix and the screaming councilor, who is Felix's companion. One day they meet the girl Felizitas, who has also followed a magic ball - and they realize that heaven touches the earth exactly at that point where one loves the other.

background

Felix differs in some respects from the other, mostly better-known bedtime stories of the NDR sandman. The film was shot exclusively on the original locations, even the house that Felix and Felizitas build towards the end of the series was set up in the open air and not on a studio site. The film was shot on 16 mm color film.

The film series is characterized above all by the fact that in it an abundance of the most varied forms of puppetry, such as hand puppetry, marionette play or mask play, work in harmony with one another. Responsible for this was the puppeteer Rudolf Fischer, who had previously worked in numerous television productions and achieved national renown primarily through his performances in Der Spatz vom Wallrafplatz , Maxifant and Minifant and Stoffel and Wolfgang . His wife Erika, also an experienced puppeteer, and the puppeteer Heide Wlazik (later Hamann) stood by his side.

The characters from the film series are now in the historical collection of the Bensberg Puppenpavillon in Bergisch Gladbach .
