Klaus Mertens (actor)
Klaus Mertens (born January 25, 1929 in Rostock , † April 27, 2003 in Berlin ) was a German actor and voice actor . He played 35 years at the Volksbühne Berlin , worked in cinema and television films and worked as a voice actor.
Live and act
Klaus Mertens received his first film role in 1953 in the DEFA film Das kleine und das große Glück , directed by Martin Hellberg . He later played in other DEFA films and in over 30 television films.
After theater engagements in Frankfurt (Oder) , Halberstadt , Görlitz , Schwerin and Erfurt , he received a permanent engagement at the Volksbühne Berlin in 1968, where he played over 80 roles until his death. He worked under the artistic director and artistic director Benno Besson and played in productions by Manfred Karge , Matthias Langhoff and Fritz Marquardt . After the fall of the Wall , his further involvement was initially uncertain, but he was taken over by artistic director Frank Castorf and played under the direction of Frank Castorf, Christoph Marthaler , Christoph Schlingensief , Johann Kresnik , Herbert Fritsch and Andreas Kriegenburg .
Klaus Mertens also led in some smaller pieces directing, so in The Deceived stepmother or a farce as desired by Julius von Voss , in the last of the fiery lovers of Neil Simon and in the two-person piece Beloved Liar by Jerome Kilty, in 1994 and in Palais am Festungsgraben was listed. In the intermedia art project hamlet_X , he played the role of Polonius under the direction of Herbert Fritsch .
On January 16, 2003 he was in the 169th performance of Murx the European! Murx him! Murx him! Murx him! Murx him! for the last time on stage.
