Rudi Kurz
Rudi Kurz (born May 9, 1921 in Ludwigshafen ) is a German screenwriter , actor and director .
Life
Kurz completed an acting degree in Mannheim. His apprenticeship was the five-year work as an actor, dramaturge and senior stage director at the Altenburg State Theater . He then worked for five years as a director at the Schauspielhaus and the Kammerspiele in Leipzig and was director of the youth theater. In addition, he held a lectureship at the Leipzig Theater Academy.
From 1958 to 1960, Kurz was active for the first time in the field of film and television. He subsequently directed around 20 television plays and a number of films. The five-part television films The Green Monster and The Trace Leads to 7th Heaven as well as the 13-part series Archive of Death and Front Without Mercy were great audiences in the GDR . In addition to the political and biographical films (about Hans Beimler , Artur Becker and Ernst Schneller ), the three-part film Der Leutnant vom Schwanenkietz also found favor with television viewers. Kurz has written his own films since the five-part film about Manfred von Brauchitsch's life , No Victory Without Fight .
Kurz belongs to the permanent circle of authors of the communist-socialist monthly " RotFuchs ".
