action

Irene and Klaus have been married for more than a year and have a son, Eduard, called Eddi. They still live in the same house as Klaus' parents Franz and Margarete and their children Täve and Sabine. If Eddi yells in the morning, a short time later the entire Bach family is standing in Irene and Klaus' bedroom and giving more or less helpful tips. Irene is also repeatedly interrupted in her research into galvanic methods, be it by Margarete or Sabine, who has just found her first friend in Harry Flössel. Shortly after her 22nd birthday it becomes too much for Irene. After a heated argument with Klaus, she packs her things and moves in with her former landlady, Katharina Liebich. Täve and his friend Atze find out their new place of residence with the help of the dog Napoleon. Täve wants to bring her back, but Irene has to get some distance first. She only misses Eddi and so Täve and Atze kidnap the baby and bring it to Irene, who is happy.

The Bachs Irenes soon found out their new place of residence and their colleagues also found out about it. Margarete wants to speak to Irene and therefore asks the angry Klaus to wait for her in front of Irene's apartment. Meanwhile, Irene's colleague Bromme and Karl Schwenke, who is in love with Irene, come to her apartment and tell her that their galvanic attempts have been crowned with success and are now to go into production. Irene sees Klaus waiting in front of her house and tries to make him jealous. She lures Karl Schwenke onto the balcony and kisses him, and a little later the mad Klaus tries to kick in Fraulein Liebich's front door. Bromme and Schwenke flee through the back door and only Margarete can smooth things over, convince Irene of the normal highs and lows of a marriage and persuade her to return.

Irene wants to pack her things the next afternoon and move back to the Bach family, but first has an important appointment. Her father Eduard comes back to the GDR from Sumatra . She picks him up from the train station and falls into his arms. Sabine, who doesn't know Eduard, reports to Klaus that Irene has kissed a strange man. She wants to get back at her and lures both Klaus and Irene to a party, where Irene supposedly meets her husband in the arms of another woman. Irene flees in horror, but Klaus has long since recognized his mistake and, like the rest of the family, hurries after her. In Irene's apartment, Klaus finds Irene in the arms of her father, whom Klaus believes to be a rival. There is a fight and only after a while does it become clear who is fighting with whom. Täve already called the police. Personal details are recorded in the corridor, while Irene and Klaus are reconciled with Eddi in Irene's room. When the policeman sees the family's good fortune, he does not file a complaint, and the Bach family is happy that the house blessing is hanging again.
