Krista-Sigrid Lau (born November 16, 1917 in Ebersbach , † December 27, 1969 in Berlin ) was a German actress .
Life
Krista-Sigrid Lau (also Krista Siegrid Lau, Krista Sigrid Lau, Krista-Siegrid Lau and Christa Lau) grew up in a boarding school for orphans. At the recommendation of her supervisors and teachers, she learned the profession of kindergarten teacher and after-school care worker and passed her state examination in 1936. After several jobs as an educator in so-called better houses, which did not go smoothly, she found employment with an uncle in Schwerin , who was looking for a cheap companion for his wife, but allowed her to take acting lessons. In order to achieve her independence, she looked for a job as a doctor's secretary in order to use the 70 Marks, 40 Marks she earned there for her studies. After another job as a doctor's secretary in Dresden , she began her artistic career here in 1940 as an acting soubrette.
Krista-Sigrid Lau returned to the largely destroyed city in 1945 through various stations and worked there in the Komödienhaus. In 1948/49 she worked at the Meininger Landestheater , where she also met her future husband Georg Leopold . Her next stations were the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Theater in Görlitz , the Erfurt Municipal Theaters and the Mecklenburg State Theater in Schwerin . From 1961 to 1969 she had an engagement at the Berlin theater of friendship . Occasionally she also directed, worked as a dramaturge and is active as a writer, so she wrote the literary models for the television films Jenny Marx and Mir on the court of the important poet Annette von Droste-Hülshoff . Since the late 1950s, she has also taken on a number of film and television roles.
The son Kristof Mathias Lau, born in 1942, also works as an actor and voice actor. She has two children with her husband Georg Leopold.
