Archive of Death is a 13-part television series that was produced by DEFA for GDR television from 1978 to 1980 . The episodes were each one hour long and were shown on Fridays at 8 p.m. from January 4 to March 28, 1980.
action
In November 1944 there are five international resistance fighters; Georg, Boris, Heiner, Hauptmann Ernst and Janek in the process of bringing a secret German archive containing the names of collaborators to the Allies. The problem is that if the Soviet Army continues to advance, there is a risk that this archive will be misplaced. The exact location of this archive is not yet known, so the group is parachuted to the edge of the Beskids . One of them, Georg, is injured when the group takes off and is separated from the others. He is rescued by the Polish partisan Hanka in a swamp. When Georg fails due to his injury, Hanka and his friends kidnap the chief medical officer Dr. Lukewarm. This gives Georg a new identity for the time being. The group is separated by various circumstances, but comes together again and can continue to carry out the task. The resistance fighters find another ally in radio operator Renate Wiesner. Opponents are Major Zirrgiebel and Captain Frenzel of the Abwehr as well as SS-Standartenführer Hauk, SS-Obersturmbannführer Flint and SS-Obersturmführer Beisel.
