Horst Papke (* 1929 or 1930 ; † 1990 ) was a German actor .

Life

Papke worked as a theater actor and stage actor from 1958 to 1988 at the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam . His stage roles there included the Junker Tobias Rülp in Was ihr wollt (1963/1964 season), the policeman Schauwa in The Caucasian Chalk Circle (1968) and the house owner and family friend Periplectomenus in the ancient comedy Miles Gloriosus . He was often used there in comedic roles.

From the late 1950s to the early 1990s he worked in numerous film and television productions. His characteristic main and supporting roles have shaped various DEFA and DFF films . Papke, a rather small, plump actor, was often used in fairy tale films and children's films , for example as the second musician in Die goldene Gans (1964), later as a guard in The Dancing Shoes (1977) and as a robber in Wer tanzten als vor'm Hell Out (1978).

His first film appearance was the comedy Senta auf Abwegen, set in a village, from 1959, a DEFA production in which Papke, directed by Martin Hellberg , played a small role as Pohlenz . In 1962 he played the role of the conductor in the quill film The Curse of the Evil Deed .

In the following years Papke was mainly used as a supporting actor in many films, where he drew striking character portraits in short scenes. His roles in this genre included: Fat SA man in the children's film The Hunt for the Boot (1962), the corporal in the coat-and-sword film Mir nach, Canaillen! (1964), the Reichsbahn employee in the music film Wedding Night in the Rain (1967), Roderich in the historical film and music comedy Frau Venus und ihr Teufel (1967), the taxi driver in the children's film Santa Claus is called Willi (1969), the canteen host in the Love film Hart am Wind (1970), the little guard in the love film The Hiding Place (1977) and the railroad worker Paul in the TV comedy The little train driver's long journey (1978).

On GDR television he was in small episode roles in the crime series Polizeiruf 110 and The Public Prosecutor has the word to see, for example as the BGL chairman in the public prosecutor's episode when two argue (1984), as a corpse bearer in the public prosecutor's episode Paule (1986) and as a doctor in the hospital in the police call episode Der Zerprunge Spiegel (1985).

Occasionally Papke worked for the television of the GDR and for DEFA also as a dubbing actor , for example in 1977 for the DEFA dubbing of the film The (probably) last prank of the Olsen gang , in 1979 for the DEFA dubbing of the film The Olsen gang sees red and in 1983 synchronization of the Russian fairy tale film Adventure with a magic hat (Там, на неведомых дорожках…).

Horst Papke is the father of the former German canoe racer Ulrich Papke .
