action

History teacher and coin collector Karl Schneider wants to find a certain ancient coin while on vacation in Bulgaria. When he met a group of musicians, he noticed that their singer Jana Christowa was wearing the same coin around her neck. He falls in love with her, but the young love soon has to overcome some unexpected problems. His travel companion, the pop singer Theobald, provides musical accompaniment to the events.

criticism

The lexicon of international films wrote that the ancient coin was a "thin-blooded, richly silly summer film that owes its creation solely to the fact that Bulgaria became the main travel destination for (East) Germans after the Wall was built".
