Heinz Hinze (actor)

Heinz Hinze (born August 31, 1905 in Leipzig , † September 8, 1988 in Berlin ) was a German actor .

Life

After the Second World War he had engagements in Gera , Leipzig and Halle (Saale) and had been a member of the ensemble of the Deutsches Theater since 1951 , where he played many great roles, including Professor Higgins 500 times in Pygmalion , alongside Inge Keller as Eliza. Most recently he was seen as Doge in William Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice . He also worked frequently as an actor in DEFA feature films as well as in television productions . He was also heard as a speaker in over 90 radio plays.

The actress Petra Hinze is his daughter.

Heinz Hinze found his final resting place in the cemetery of the Dorotheenstadt and Friedrichswerder communities in Berlin's Chausseestrasse .
