Heinz Drewniok

Heinz Drewniok (real name: Heinrich Peter Drewniok ; born August 6, 1949 in Gliwice , Upper Silesia ; † August 28, 2011 ) was a German actor , director , journalist and author . As a trained theater scientist, he wrote plays , radio plays and scripts .

Life

Heinz Drewniok came to the GDR in 1957 and lived there in Rostock . After graduating from high school and training as a mechanical engineer , he attended the Rostock State Drama School and completed a distance learning course in theater studies in Leipzig .

From 1972 Drewniok worked as a dramaturge, actor and director at various theaters, including in Zwickau , Magdeburg , Eisenach , Erfurt and Dresden . From 1979 to 1981 he worked as a freelancer. In autumn 1989 he switched to journalism. Subsequently, he was radio editor at MDR and has worked for MDR 1 Radio Sachsen since 1992 .

In 2007 he published the book “Second Home Saxony” about the fate of expellees .

Drewniok died of cancer in 2011 after a long illness.
