Ulrich Voss (born June 8, 1938 in Rostock ) is a German actor .

Life

Voss studied Romance Studies and Classical Philology at the University of Rostock from 1956 to 1961, then until 1963 in a second degree in acting at the Rostock Theater School. He was engaged at the Rostock Volkstheater and played numerous roles on stage, in film, radio and television. He has lent his dubbing voice to actors such as Robert Mitchum , Toshirō Mifune , Lee Marvin , Anthony Quinn and Oliver Reed .

Ulrich Voss has been working as a freelancer since 1978. He has often made guest appearances in Berlin, at the Deutsches Theater, the Berliner Ensemble, the Volksbühne and the Theater im Palast. From 1984 to 1986 Voss worked as a director for the GDR State Broadcasting Corporation. In 1986 he joined the Volksbühne ensemble, where he worked with the directors Christoph Marthaler and Frank Castorf .
