Michele Malaspina (born August 16, 1908 in Bolzaneto , † January 13, 1979 in Rome ) was an Italian actor .

Life

Malaspina, son of retailers, took an early interest in acting and played in amateur groups. Alfredo Sainato gave him the first contract for his ensemble. At the age of 18 he had already played in a number of well-known and important theater companies; he performed on stage with Dina Galli , Emma Gramatica , Ruggero Ruggeri , Ermete Zacconi , Camillo Pilotto , Annibale Betrone and Giulio Donadio . Malaspina's deep voice, clear pronunciation and gentle way of speaking allowed him to speak in comedies for the “Ente Italiano per le Audizioni Radiofoniche” (EIAR) for many years and later also take on dubbing tasks. For forty years since 1936 he was in demand as a supporting actor in the cinema and personified distinguished figures such as doctors, lawyers, industrialists and notaries.

In addition, Malaspina was seen in a large number of television productions, in comedies and serious subjects, in adaptations and original works. Noteworthy are Daniele D'Anza's works such as the episode Ferma posta (1957) from the series Capitano tutte a me , Donne in ermellino , Notte sull'Atlantico and Le avventure di Nicola Nickleby , all of which were created in 1958. Later he often shot with D'Anza ( Vita col padre e con la madre , 1959; Paura per Janet , 1963) and also with Anton Giulio Majano , for whom he worked in Ottocento , 1959, and the RAI large-scale production La cittadella from the Played in 1964. He was also cast in several episodes of the crime series Tenente Sheridan . Until the end of the 1960s, Malaspina's work focused on such roles and the adaptation of a number of theater plays for the screen. He reduced his workload in the 1970s, but remained active until shortly before his death.
