Gabriele Ferzetti , actually Pasquale Ferzetti (born March 17, 1925 in Rome ; † December 2, 2015 there ), was an Italian film and stage actor .

Life

Gabriele Ferzetti appeared as an extra in several films as a student in 1942. After graduating from the Accademia d'Arte Drammatica , he was seen on stage under Luchino Visconti in Rosalinda o come vi piace and in other contemporary plays, but also began a career as a film actor from 1946 - in his first creative decade initially as a secondary - and second leading roles in then common dramas and romances. Michelangelo Antonioni exploited Ferzetti's full potential when he cast him in 1955 in the roles of "Lorenzo" (in girlfriends ) and, above all, in 1960 that of the restless playboy Sandro (in the controversial The Play With Love ).
