Jonathan Hardy

Jonathan Hardy (born September 20, 1940 in Wellington , New Zealand , † July 30, 2012 in New South Wales , Australia ) was an Australian film and stage actor and screenwriter.

Life

Hardy studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art , returned to Australia in the early 1979s and began working as a television and film actor. He was also active as a theater actor for decades.

In 1980 he first appeared as a screenwriter with the film The Fall of Lieutnant Morant . At the 1981 Academy Awards , he was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Adapted Screenplay category with David Stevens and Bruce Beresford for work on the script for The Fall of Lieutnant Morant . The year before they were for their work with the Australian Film Institute Award of the Australian Film Institute Award.

In 1988, the film he directed Backstage was released, the film remained his only directorial work.

From 1999 to 2003 he was the spokesperson for the character Rygel XVI on the series Farscape .
