Hans-Jürgen Müller-Hohensee (born February 23, 1950 in Dresden ) is a German actor and director .

Life

Müller-Hohensee was born the son of a shoemaker . He initially trained as a baker and pastry chef . From 1969 to 1972 he completed his acting studies at the Rostock University of Music and Theater . He had his first engagement (here still under his birth name Hans-Jürgen Müller ) from 1972 to 1975 at the Junge Garde theater in Halle (Saale) . There he made his debut as a toad in a stage version of the Russian folk tale Das Rübchen .

In 1975 he moved to the Anhaltisches Theater in Dessau , initially only for the 1975/1976 season, and added the surname of his wife at the time, the stage and costume designer Helene Hohensee, who was already working there, to his name (complete sets for Die Ratten , Don Giovanni , Hoffmanns Stories ), as a stage name. He did his voluntary three-year army service with the Erich Weinert Ensemble in Berlin as a speaker and actor (1976–1979). From 1979 to 1981 Müller-Hohensee was engaged again at the Anhaltisches Theater in Dessau; from 1982 to 1984 he was part of the ensemble of the Städtische Bühnen in Quedlinburg . From 1984 Müller-Hohensee was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Anhaltisches Theater for almost thirty years. There he appeared in over 100 theater roles and in around forty of his own productions. In total he played over 160 theater roles. At the end of the 2012/2013 season, he officially retired; He still appears in guest roles there.

His stage roles in Dessau included Landvogt Geßler in Wilhelm Tell , Harpagon (title role) in Molière's comedy Der Geizige , Pantalone in The Servant of Two Masters , Robber Knoll in Das Wirtshaus im Spessart , the Mayor in The Visit of the Old Lady and numerous fairy tale roles Like the Dutch Michel in The Cold Heart , the Devil / King / Robber Kevin in The Devil with the Three Golden Hairs and the title role in the fairy tale The Emperor's New Clothes . In 2011 he was seen in the play Schwarzweiß (director: Nina Gühlstorff), a street theater production by the Anhaltisches Theater Dessau, which artistically dealt with the death of the asylum seeker Oury Jalloh . Müller-Hohensee played a veteran police officer in it. In the 2012/2013 season he appeared at the Anhaltisches Theater Dessau as Fir's old servant in Chekhov's play The Cherry Orchard . This was his last role as a permanent member of the ensemble.

In the summer of 2013 he appeared in two roles at the Störtebeker Festival on the island of Rügen in the play Beginning of a Legend : as estate manager Bertram and as Profoss von Wismar . In 2003 he had already jumped in at short notice (within half an hour) for a sick colleague when he was on vacation there; his wife was part of the cast at the time.

Parallel to his engagement there, Müller-Hohensee also took on several film and television roles, mainly supporting roles, including as "nasty sergeant" in the DEFA feature film Ernst Schneller (1977) and as hairdresser / wig maker in the movie Goethe! (2010). In 1980 he was seen in an episode role in the television series Polizeiruf 110 .

Müller-Hohensee is married to the theater actress Christel Ortmann , who is also employed at the Anhaltisches Theater Dessau.
