Life

Pfeifer was seen in both films and television series in the GDR . Pfeifer made appearances in films from the early 1960s to the mid-1980s. During his career he almost exclusively embodied character roles and batches ; he often played authority figures such as officers, policemen, or minor officials. Pfeifer's film appearances often consisted of only a short scene. He was often not even mentioned in the credits.

As its first film appearance, the film database IMDb has the DEFA - fairy tale film The Magic Man (1960), a film adaptation of the fairy tale Rumpelstiltskin . In this film, Pfeifer took on the small role of the writer. The film was based on a successful theater production of the fairy tale Rumpelstiltskin at the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam . Pfeifer remained loyal to the role of the minor actor in all of his other film appearances, for example as an SA man in the children's film The Hunt for the Boot (1962), as Felino in the comedy Santa Claus is called Willi (1969) or as an electoral knight in the comedy The Knight of Bredow's Pants (1973).

In the GDR children's series Spuk unterm Riesenrad (1979), he played a small, recurring series role as a fruit seller.

From the late 1960s to the mid-1970s, Pfeifer worked at DEFA as the first unit manager, including the film comedy Ein Lord am Alexanderplatz . In addition, he repeatedly took on small film roles. Pfeifer was later the first cinema director of the Potsdam Film Museum .

He also appeared as an actor in the GDR theater. On August 13, 1958, Pfeifer had a role in the premiere of the play Das Eiserne Büffelchen ( The Iron Buffalo) , which was staged by Paul Dornberger based on the novel of the same name by Alex Wedding , at the Junge Garde theater in Halle (Saale) .

Pfeifer died on May 12, 2016 at the age of 85. The urn burial took place on June 1, 2016 in the New Cemetery in Potsdam .
