The last chance is a black and white TV film by director Hans-Joachim Kasprzik from 1962 , produced by the East German film production company DEFA , KAG “Berlin” on behalf of the German TV broadcaster (DFF). The film was based on the novel The Face with the Scar by Herbert Ziergiebel .

The story of the Jewish pianist Klaus Seiser, who, during a concert, killed his former tormentor, the Gestapo officer Dr. Becker discovered in the parquet. Becker had betrayed him on the basis of a leaflet in 1943, after which Seiser spent several months in prison and was later interned in the Dachau concentration camp . The pianist then reports his former tormentor. Long after the crimes of the Nazis, Seiser hoped for justice.
