Barbara Brylska

Barbara Brylska (born June 5, 1941 in Skotniki , near Łódź , Poland ) is a Polish actress .

Life

Barbara Brylska made her film debut at the age of seventeen in Antoni Bohdziewicz's Kalosze szczęścia (1958). Her role in the 1966 film Boomerang quickly made her one of the most popular actresses in Poland . In the same year she gained international attention as priestess Kama in Jerzy Kawalerowicz 's Pharaoh . In 1967 she graduated from the Film and Television Academy in Łódź with a diploma. In 1969 she played the lead female role of Catherine Emmerson at the side of Gojko Mitić in the DEFA Indian films White Wolves and Trail of the Falcon . As partisan Helena she is one of the heroines in the epic Liberation in 1969 . In the seventies it was the films Irony of Fate and Anatomy of Love that increased their popularity. In 1980 she played Hanka in the GDR television film series Archive of Death . In recent years Brylska has starred in two Russian films, and since 2002 she has also appeared in the popular Polish television series Samo Życie .
