Francisco Pereira da Silva
Francisco Pereira da Silva (born August 11, 1918 in Campo Maior , Piauí , † April 8, 1985 in Rio de Janeiro ) was a Brazilian playwright .
Life
Francisco Pereira da Silva studied law and library science at the Universities of Teresina and São Luís . In 1942 he moved to Rio de Janeiro and got a job at the Brazilian National Library , where he worked until his death.
In addition to numerous dramas, he also wrote scripts and received several prizes and awards for his works.
In the German-speaking world, he was best known for his popular drama Speckhut . The German premiere took place on March 31, 1974 at the Berliner Volksbühne in a production by Manfred Karge and Matthias Langhoff .
