Felix Blaesing

Julian Felix Blaesing (born May 8, 1858 in Ostrowo, Czarnikau district , † 1929 in Frankfurt / Oder ) was a German composer and choir director.

Life

Blaesing, son of the senior teacher Friedrich Blaesing, first attended Theodor Kullak's New Academy of Music . From 1876 he studied at the Royal Academic Institute for Church Music and from 1878 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Berlin. Here he was taught composition by Woldemar Bargiel .

In 1883 Blaesing went to Eupen to take over the management of the municipal choir. In 1888 he returned to Berlin. In 1907 he was appointed Royal Music Director.

Since 1884 he was married to Emma Luise Helene Harryers.
