Felix Haug
Felix Haug (born March 27, 1952 ; † May 1, 2004 in Uster ) was a Swiss pop musician .
Life
Haug first played in the Lipschitz Orchestra from 1977 to 1979 and in 1979 took part in the production of Yello's debut album Solid Pleasure . In the 1970s he was a drummer in Europe, the USA and the Far East.
In 1980 he founded the jazz trio Ping Pong with his friend Kurt Maloo . The two later broke away from the group and founded the duo Double . In 1985 they landed an international hit with the single The Captain of Her Heart . It sold 1.5 million copies worldwide and even reached number 16 on the Billboard charts in the United States . The song is considered one of the most successful Swiss productions of all time. In 1989, Double broke up. Most recently, Haug worked as head of text for the TV magazine TR7, but he continued to write songs, music for commercials and set various TV films to music.
Haug died of a heart attack on May 1, 2004 at the age of 52 .
