Felix Meindl

Felix Meindl (born October 25, 1882 in Neunburg vorm Wald , † December 10, 1956 in Landshut ) was a German local politician and chief justice inspector.

Meindl was first mayor of the Achdorf community from 1919 to 1924 . After their incorporation on April 1, 1928, he became a member of the SPD parliamentary group in Landshut's city council and was elected third mayor in 1930. After the " seizure of power " by the National Socialists in 1933, he was deposed and arrested. After another arrest in 1944, he was deported to a concentration camp .

After the end of the war, the US military government installed him as Lord Mayor for three months on June 28, 1945. Until shortly before his death, he remained leader of the SPD parliamentary group in Landshut's city council. For his services to the well-being of the city, he was made an honorary citizen of Landshut in 1956 . In memory of Meindl, a relatively important street, the Felix-Meindl-Weg, was named after him in his hometown Achdorf.
