Felix Sumarokov-Elston

Felix Felixovitsch Sumarokow-Elston ( Russian Феликс Феликсович Сумароков-Эльстон ; * October 5, 1856 , † June 10, 1928 ) was a Russian nobleman .

Life

Its origin is unclear, the name Elston is said to come from his nanny .

Sumarokow-Elston married on April 4, 1882 in Saint Petersburg Princess Sinaida Nikolaevna Yusupova (7th Princess of the Yusupov) (* September 2, 1861, † November 24, 1939), whose family was very wealthy.

After the death of his father-in-law Nikolai Yusupov the Younger (1827-1891), Felix received the approval of Tsar Alexander III. , whose title is Prince Yusupov and Count Sumarokow-Elston and inheriting these titles to the heirs from his marriage to Sinaida.

Thanks to his wife, he was one of the richest aristocrats in the Russian Empire .

In 1904 he became adjutant to Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrowitsch Romanov and in 1914 Governor General of Moscow .

Felix Felixowitsch Jussupow was one of his four sons.
