Felizia of Sicily

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Felizia of Sicily († 1102 ) was Queen of Hungary.

Felizia of Sicily was born the daughter of Roger I , Count of Apulia, and Erenburge d'Evreux.

In 1097 she married the Hungarian King Koloman I of the House of the Arpads.

The marriage resulted in four children, with the only surviving son Stephan II succeeding his father as the Hungarian king. However, since he remained childless despite two marriages, the line of the Hungarian kings after Koloman died out with him.

Queen Felizia died after five years of marriage and her husband married Euphemia of Kiev two years later . Felizia was buried in the basilica of Székesfehérvár .
