As fer de Berlin (Berliner Eisen), cast-iron art objects such as monuments , such as B. called the national monument for the wars of liberation in Berlin, smaller objects or grave crosses that were made in the Royal Prussian iron foundry in Berlin . These were often created in close collaboration with artists who worked and were active in Berlin, including Karl Friedrich Schinkel , and were distributed internationally. The technique of iron art casting was largely shaped by the Berlin iron art caster Conrad Geiß .
