Ferdinand Drugčevič

Ferdinand Drugčevič (born May 20, 1856 in Engelsdorf , † April 12, 1928 in Graz ) was an Austrian collector and taxidermist of fossils .

Life

Drugčevič was employed temporarily in 1894 and from 1895 permanently at the Landesmuseum Joanneum in Graz. He was initially an auxiliary officer, later an official of the auxiliary service. At that time, the geological department of the Joanneum had just been founded by Vinzenz Hilber and fossils had to be obtained through collection trips . Drugčevič initially took part in these as a companion, later he carried out collections independently. In the museum, his main task was to prepare and display the collection items.

Drugčevič was awarded a Montanist Merit Medal on the occasion of a trip with the former museum secretary Geßmann.
