Ferdinand Hey'l (born October 7, 1830 in Koblenz , † August 21, 1897 in Wiesbaden ) was a German actor, Kurhaus director and writer.

Life

Ferdinand Hey'l has published numerous articles and travel guides on the landscape around the Rhine and Lahn and was one of the most influential personalities in Wiesbaden in the second half of the 19th century. In 1856 Ferdinand Hey'l was appointed as a “young lover” at the Ducal Nassau court theater and in early 1873 was appointed spa director by the local council. Hey'l took over the management of the Kurhaus operations when the Wiesbaden spa and bathing system was facing a completely new start due to the closure of the casino on January 1, 1873. As a result, the former actor developed the "world spa town of Wiesbaden" into the leading seaside resort of the German Empire.
